March is our birthday month and the parties kept on coming!! Two weeks ago we did the family party for both kids. The kids woke up EARLY the morning of the parties (like around 6:00am) just DYING to know when the party would start. You would have thought it was Christmas morning. We had mexican food & strawberry shortcake at the kids' request. They had a fun time playing with the Skipper kids & opening their super cool gifts. It's hard to believe they are both old enough to sit like bookends at their birthday party with total command of the party routine. Our babies are getting old!!! It's bittersweet, for sure.
Directly following the family party was Emma's friend party. Emma really wanted to do a cooking party, so cook we did! Emma had 8 of her friends over to smoke it up in the kitchen. We set up the living room with all the babies, cribs, tables, dollhouse and such so the girls could play house and then onto to the cooking we went. Each little girl had an apron & hat to wear & they made their own pizzas, fruit salads, cupcakes & suckers. We were so thankful to have our friends Cory & Jerime with us to help these budding chefs because they were a very busy and artistic group!! In between courses, they played various games with each other, some of them staying dressed as chefs and others dressing up as princesses. And of course, there were gifts to be given - each girl giving an excited and detailed explaination of how neat their gift for Emma was going to be! It was a wild, but fun time!!
At the start of the party, even Jake was ready to sport the girly apron & hat set. Mama, should I really be wearing this?? Well, I don't care - let's cook!
Making their pizzas - who knew they were such good cooks! :-)
Busy, busy, busy - making our fruit salads. They had MOUNDING bowls of fruit! More than any adult could eat, I'm sure. "But we just love fruit!!" some of them said.
A mouthful of fun!!!
Her typical position at the table.
Having all these friends to celebrate a birthday with makes life SOOOOOOOO much fun!!!!!!!!!!
