Adoption Update......

After working hard all of January, February and 1/2 of March, we are FINALLY done with the tons of paperwork and appointments for our homestudy & dossier!! This is a big step in our adoption process! Now that we are done with both of these, we have been given a number on the waiting list for an infant girl or siblings. Our number is 22.

It feels SO wonderful to have this stage of the process completed. Now, we have to do what seems easy at the moment, but may grow tiring - and that's to wait. Julie, our Ethiopian social worker, has said that it could take 6 to 8 months to find out who our new child (or children) will be. So for now, we wait and pray. We have had a few moments of "pouting" that it will probably be early next year before we get to bring our new child(ren) home, but have been reminded over and over again that God alone is orchestrating the timing of all this. What a relief.

So, keep watching for new numbers over the coming months. As we plug our way down the list, we'll post it!

Hi Melissa and Michael,
You sound so busy and enwraptured with family and current events. Love the pictures of the birthday party. Jake looked great in his new T-shirt & apron. I loved Emma display of big sister too. Pretty amazing that they can help in the kitchen like that, looked good from here. It nice of you to dress them up like that for Auntie Kathy to see. :))
I am so amazed at how fast they are growing up. Jake is really looking good on the green, good show Michael in getting them all "geared up." Emma is as always such a little princess.
Hang in there with your adoption plans, it truly is a waiting game. Sounds as if it is going a bit faster than you planned however? Early 2010 is just around the corner. Does this mean a new addition to the house?
We'll let you know when we are coming into town. Will be setting up a date with Nana soon.
Love you both, Kathy and Fred
